The Med-P (preparatory program) is open to immediate graduates of the Quebec Collegial (CEGEP) system.
The Med-P combines a preparatory year in the Faculty of Science followed by the Faculty of Medicine's four-year M.D.,C.M. program. The program consists of courses in molecular biology, cell biology and metabolism, with a choice of among 12 science tracks and includes courses in Humanities and Social Sciences. In the first year of the Med-P program students are registered in the Faculty of Science. In addition to completing the specific requirements for entry into the M.D.,C.M. program, they must take a number of optional courses selected for the purpose of broadening and enriching their education. Med-P students must obtain a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 3.5 and no grades less than B in the compulsory courses in order to move forward into the M.D.,C.M. program.
