Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analysis of existing and future telecommunication services in use within HRM.
  • Reviews department requests for new telephone installations and modifications to ensure completeness of orders and correct billing information.
  • Maintains various records, logs, files related to telecommunications requests for service or service changes.
  • Provides information and technical assistance regarding new technology; systems configuration; and using existing equipment to maximum efficiency.
  • Works with Business Units and Financial Services and the vendor to ensure that billing discrepancies are resolved and correctedin a timely manner.
  • Liaising with HRM staff and the service providers to address, in a timely and efficiently manner, any matters currently outstanding or arising with regard to telecommunications.
  • Assists in the development, and implementation of policies, procedures and documentation regarding telephony services.
  • Develops and promotes appropriate training procedures regarding proper acquisition of services from telecommunication providers.
  • Escalation of problem reports through appropriate channels in a timely manner to ensure resolution.

Education and Experience:
  • Diploma or Degree in Business or related field, or suitable combination of formal education and experience.

Technical/Job Specific Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of billing process and procedures and service offerings of the ILEC and CLEC and cellular carriers.

The vessel is ice classed, currently under construction and is scheduled
to deliver from the shipyard in April 2006 and commence shipping concentrates in May 2006. We are inviting applications for the following position:

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Qualifications: You must hold appropriate Transport Canada Certificate of Competency, unrestricted service, Level II Oil Tanker Endorsement and a valid Seafarer’s medical. For Engineers, experience with large bore slow speed 2-stroke engines and electronic control systems and for Chief Mate, Bulk Carrier experience is preferred. First consideration for employment will be given to candidates who are members of the Labrador Inuit Association or the Innu Nation of Labrador.[/FONT]

Ad #: CB-1025-PER Location: Saint John, NB Our client is the largest oil refinery in Canada and one of the most technologically advanced refineries in North America.
With a nameplate capacity of 250,000 barrels per day they are responsible for 50 percent of all Canadian gasoline exports. The completion of a $1 billion refinery upgrade project last year further enhanced production and the sophistication of operations.
They are currently seeking a process engineer in Saint John, NB to join their growing team and to share in their journey toward excellence.
Responsibilities include:
  • Identify, define, evaluate and justify projects to support both the base business and the processing and transportation business unit's strategic plan. This is an opportunity to influence the design work for new units and revamp existing units to meet the demands of the strategic and operating plans for the Processing and Transportation business unit.
  • Liaise with Technology Vendors and with our Project Solutions Alliance organization.
  • Work with internal customers to assist with development of feasibility studies, and process design basis' generation.
  • Produce key documents for feasibility, preliminary economics, and process design basis to schedule milestones for decision making.
  • Ensure that documentation of studies, business cases and design bases are correctly archived for retrieval.
  • Participate in the development of the capital budget submission items for the Processing and Transportation business unit.
  • Participate in the development of the input to the Processing and Transportation business unit's Capital and Master Planning process.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering and 2-5 years engineering experience. You must be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer. Experience in a refinery in the areas of technology, operations and technical services would be ideal. You must be able to clarify issues, manage multiple conflicting priorities, manage projects and staff while meeting deadlines. A strategic thinker, you have superior people skills. Occasional travel is required.

[FONT=Arial,]The School of Maritime Studies within the Marine Institute is involved in a wide variety of education and training for the marine industry. This includes three-year technology diplomas covering all aspects of the marine transportation industry, including Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering Systems Design, Marine Engineering, and Nautical Science. The School is also involved in the delivery of specific training, two-year Technician diplomas, for the Department of National Defence - Navy. To assist in this regard, the School is looking for an individual who can augment our current group of professionals.[/FONT]

[FONT=Arial,]Instruction in Mechanics, Strength of Materials and Machine Design for the Diplomas in Marine Engineering, Marine Engineering Systems Design and Naval Architecture, along with the technician programs for the Navy. The successful applicant will be one of the instructors in these subject areas, and will be responsible for classroom delivery and set up and delivery of the associated lab component. Instruction in other related courses such as the Ministry of Transport Applied Mechanics courses may be required periodically. Assisting other faculty in materials testing, within the area of destructive testing, for external clients may also be a part of this position. [/FONT]

Work experience in a marine setting, a working knowledge of finite element software, and prior teaching experience would be assets. [/FONT]
