I. Permanent residents in Canada or holders of passports issued by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Visa
Permanent residents in Canada or holders of Hong Kong passports are visa-exempted
Required Documents for Admission:
A.- Valid passport
B.- Original Permanent Resident Card (not applicable to holders of Hong Kong passports)
C.- Proof of economic solvency, which maybe proven by presenting any of the following:
-Your credit card plus your last credit card statement that shows a minimum credit limit of $1,000 USD equivalent in Canadian currency; or
- An employment letter with a minimum monthly income of $500 USD equivalent in Canadian currency; or
- Bank statements with a minimum annual-average balance of $2,000 USD equivalent in Canadian currency (Online statements are NOT acceptable)
D.- A tourist-migratory form (tourist card), which is usually provided during direct flights to Mexico, and is always available at the Mexican point of entry
II. Non-permanent residents in Canada (visitors with multiple entry visa or holders of a work or student permit)
Visa
Legal temporary residents in Canada need a visa to visit Mexico.
Requirements to obtain a tourist visa:
A.- Submit a completed visa application in person (no exception)
B.- Valid passport
C.- Valid multiple-entry visa to Canada and work/study permit
D.- Proof of economic solvency, which maybe proven by presenting any of the following:
- An employment letter with a minimum monthly income of $500 USD equivalent in Canadian currency; or
- Bank statements, for at least 6 months, with a minimum annual-average balance of $2,000 USD equivalent in Canadian currency (Online statements are NOT acceptable)
E.- One color photograph, passport-size, not older than 30 days, white background and uncovered face (no glasses). Automatic machine pictures are not accepted.
F.- One clear photocopy of all the documents listed above (except application).
**Important** Scanned documents or online statements are NOT acceptable. Original documents must be presented with the application.
Mexican migratory form (tourist card)
A tourist card is usually provided during direct flights to Mexico, and is always available at the Mexican point of entry
Processing time: usually two business days

--Minors--
Letters of parental consent are not longer required by the Mexican migratory authorities. Therefore, getting one would be optional (you also need to verify with the airlines and local migratory authorities about their own requirements). When choosing to obtain a parental letter of consent, the document could include picture, name, place and date of birth of the minor, as well as information about the parents (names, passport numbers and contact information)
