I, I live among the creatures of the night
I haven't got the will to try and fight
Against a new tomorrow, so I guess I'll just believe it
That tomorrow never comes
You've been under the hidden camera.'
Is your current husband a Chinese? You said the guy was introduced to you by your Jewish neighbors, my impression is that he was from here.
My question is: how come your husband was using Chinglish? "Smile. You've been under the hidden camera." is Chinglish. People from here would write: Smile, you are on candid camera.
The devil is in the detail. The detail exposes your story as a fabrication.
this place is under surveillance 是一个意思, more than one way to skin a cat,"Smile, you are on candid camera" is the punch line from the Candid Camera television show, which is an American hidden camera/practical joke reality television series created and produced by Allen Funt, initially begun on radio as The Candid Microphone on June 28, 1947.
The giveaway is that people who are from here, when using "Smile" to start a warning that a camera is in operation, would use the famous punch line.
The deadly giveaway is the use of an incorrect preposition. The native speaker would use ON CAMERA, Oly Zhang said her husband used UNDER CAMERA, but meant ON CAMERA. That was her Chinglish.
These leaks exposed the fictitious nature of Zhang's story.
You don't understand the complexity of English prepositions. We don't even have a starting point for discussion.
