I have the same detector at home. You just plug in and wait for 48 hours. There will be reading showing on the small red screen which tells you the level of radon in your house. Ideally put it in your basement as the level there should be the highest. Also as I am living in NS, we have an interactive radon map which allows you to type in your address and check the average radon level in your area. This is a link from our NS government. I dont know where you are living. Say if you are in Vancouver, just google:" British Columbia + interactive radon map". Here is the link for our province. Hope this will help!q
