We are there when women and girls need shelter, employment skills, counselling, permanent housing, or the confidence that comes from outdoor education and leadership training. We are also there speaking out when a public policy needs changing, or a regulation has a negative impact, or when the progress of achieving true equality for women and girls is stalled, on the wrong track or no longer a priority in public life. In 2008 we were the turning point in the lives of 26,628 people across the Greater Toronto Area.

Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, the Senior Information Technology Administrator is responsible for providing in-person/phone/e-mail support to end-users for computer software/hardware issues. This includes installing, configuring and administering the applications, systems, servers, switches and client machines. This position is also responsible for assisting in the planning, development and implementation of computerized systems, policies and practices for the Association.

You will have: in-depth knowledge of the computer technology field, normally acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in computer science or a related field and experience relevant to the current topologies in use at the Association; must have at least 3 to 5 years of systems administration experience; experience with large scale implementation and proven hardware and software troubleshooting skills are essential; experience in a Microsoft windows based network environment; advanced knowledge of Windows XP, Office 2003-7, and Windows 2003-8 Server; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people who have a variety of technical skills and comfort levels; strong, creative problem solving and logistical skills are critical to this position; strong communication skills: verbal and written; advanced ability to research; strong organizational and administrative skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; demonstrates awareness of the issues affecting women and girls; a thorough knowledge and appreciation of delivering services to women and girls, with contacts in a variety of sectors. Core Competencies: understand and support the mission and beliefs of YWCA Toronto; incorporate principles of anti-oppression and equity at YWCA Toronto; demonstrate respect, consideration and acceptance of the opinions of others while expressing her own expertise and effectively utilizing relevant resources and specialists; consistently collaborate with team members, sharing ideas and differences openly; be receptive to new ideas and adapt to change as necessary; set goals, prioritize tasks and carry out responsibilities to achieve quality results; take action to avoid or solve problems and create opportunities for positive change; demonstrate commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.

The hours of work for this position are 35 hours per week. The salary for this position is $46,105 per annum (Level 6), plus comprehensive benefits. Note: This position may require the incumbent to work irregular hours and to carry a pager (including during non-working hours).
