Trillium Gift of Life Network is an agency of the Government of Ontario with a broad mandate including responsibility for planning, promoting, coordinating and supporting the organ and tissue donation system; managing the organ transplant waiting list, allocation, recovery, distribution and delivery of organs for transplantation; educating and increasing awareness of the public and health professionals on donation; and, reporting statistics on organ and tissue donation and transplantation. TGLN is currently seeking a highly motivated, energetic Accounting Assistant who will be responsible for supporting various accounting functions and providing analysis. This would include processing and monitoring expenditures and cash receipts, performing numerous accounting duties and providing payroll support as required.

Functional Responsibilities:
Perform month end and year end accounting duties in order to ensure timely and accurate financial information. Assist in the day to day processing of financial payments to vendors and staff in an effective, timely and accurate manner. Record journal entries and run reports from the financial system.

Main Activities:
Assist Finance Manager by:
•Running standard reports and analyzing results;
•Assist in preparing forecasts by analyzing trends;
•Prepare and process journal entries and accruals;
•Run, check and distribute various financial reports from ACCPAC system.

Assist Accounts Payable by:
•Verify, coding and inputting invoices and requisitions for goods and services;
•Prepare batches of invoices and expense reports for data entry;
•Processing payment by cheques or EFT;
•Run various reports after data entry.

Other Duties Include:
•Assist with cash receipts process;
•Assist in completion of regulatory reporting;
•Assist in automation of key processes;
•Support payroll when required;
•Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years experience working in a Finance department preferably in various capacities.
Working towards a designation or certification.
Competencies:
Analytical and problem solving skills
Effective verbal, listening and communication skills
Effective written communication skills
Ability to organize and time manage efficiently
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Intermediate competency in MS Office related software
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
