I feel ashamed to be Canadian after this awful disgusting move by our man child Prime minister I can't even mention his name. This 15 year old Khadr(3 weeks from his 16 Birthday) was captured on the battle field after having killed U.S.A. medic, Sergeant Christopher Speer and blinding (in one eye) Sergeant Layne Morris. Khadr's family has also spent time living with the Bin Ladins if you do enough research its amazing what you can find that the Media will never tell you. He has never apologized to the families. After being seriously injured in a firefight with US soldiers he was transported to Guantanamo Bay, against the wishes of the United Nations, held and tortured, and convicted by military tribunal with no evidence except the forced confession he made under duress. He has admitted multiple times that he only confessed because they told him he would never be extradited to Canada without confessing. None of this matters because his settlement wasn't about what he did. It was about what the Canadian government didn't do. Multiple leaders spanning multiple years left him to rot in the torture chambers of a foreign power despite having the legal obligation to bring him back to Canada and put him on trial under the Canadian judicial system. The settlement was fiscally responsible because otherwise he would have won $20 million and the government would have spent additional millions fighting it in court only to lose. The lawyers of the widow of the medic have already publically stated that the lawsuit was more of a political statement and they never intended to go after Khadr's settlement money. They were informed in time and they did not submit any paperwork to move their own case forward.

The thing is, Omar is both a bad guy AND a victim...he deserves a second chance. Why can't people be more fair-minded. He was brainwashed into what he did. The thing is, Omar is both a bad guy AND a victim...he deserves a second chance. Why can't people be more fair-minded. He was brainwashed into what he did. Was he going to run away from those people at age 14-15 and live on his own in a land he didn't know just to get away from them. The terrorists he was with was the only people he know in Pakistan. Of course he doesn't deserve 8.3 million dollars, but he was also wronged. And OF COURSE despite his age he DID deserve to be punished - but he was guilty of at worst voluntary manslaughter. ALSO, he did NOT deserve to be sent to Guantanamo Bay! I believe no one other than him there was under 18 and if I am wrong about that I am 100% sure he was the youngest person ever sent there!

Oh....how I long for the days when our pot-bellied warrior, Stephen Harper lead our glorious forces on the front lines in Iraq. He and "all my body's a weapon" Jason Kenny must have sent chills down the spine of the Russian Navy as they maneuvered our frigate on the Black Sea. If only they were still around so that Canada could still get the deal- of- a life-time on those F-35's that he promised us. Omar Khadr was blinded by the bombing of the building that he was in. Even some of the American soldiers that were there at the time doubt that he could have even thrown a grenade. The evidence points to a "'friendly fire" incident. One of the guards at GITMO has also admitted that Khadr was tortured. Look up "The U.S. vs Omar Khadr" here on YouTube. Under Canada's previous regime The Harper Government, the muslim association of Canada(MAC) was caught funneling collection plate alms from the mosques to Hamas. Why is it that no one understands that there's no proof that Khadr killed anyone?? The reason why he got his settlement (and rightly so, btw) is that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and CSIS BOTH knew that Khadr was being tortured, was a Canadian AND was a child.....THAT in, and of itself, is a WAR CRIME- and both Canada and the US are culpable.
