第四十八章原文:为学日益，为道日损。损之又损，以至于无为。无为而无不为。取天下常以无事，及有其事，不足以取天下。

Learning mundane knowledge leads to more and more knowledge.

However, learning The Dao will lead to knowing less and less.`

Who keeps company with the less known will more and more rapidly grow up,

And even reach the state of not doing anything willfully-

If he reaches that, he can do anything and can master it.

So, governing the populace should often take the way of quiet and inaction,

If it always takes the way of co-opting something,

Then it’s not good enough to govern the populace.

第四十八章：学問をやればやるほど増やします。しかし道を探究すればするほど減らします。へらされんば‘するほど無為になるまでにしました。無為且つ不為になります。天下の治りが常に無事として取り扱います。もし有事でやれば天下を握るのに十分ではありません。

有关第四十八章个人理解： 这一章老子讲为学与为道的区别。 八个字，为学日益，为道日损。益是增加，损是减少。为道是透过现象看本质。不是学一些感性的东西，经验性的东西，通俗话说就是不学知识，为学则是学知识。为道是减法，为学是加法。通过为道可以达到无为，而通过为学，则永远达不到无为。
我对老子这八个字体会特深，我从50岁以后，读书就开始采用减法了。人加得越多贪婪、妄见越多。到最后甚至忘记了自己的本性。比如邯郸学步就是一个很好的例子。
