据CBC 的新闻报道： Catherine Shen 被指控犯有严重攻击罪 （Aggravated Assault）。

那么这个严重攻击罪（Aggravated Assault）是什么样的罪名呢?

Google “Aggravated Assault vs murder" 之外，有如下的说明：

When a person is charged with Aggravated Assault the prosecution must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant attempted to cause, or did cause, serious bodily injury. Serious bodily injury is defined as an injury that would create a substantial risk of death or that will cause serious, permanent disfigurement or a protracted loss or impairment of a function of any body organ. The prosecution must also establish beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant’s conduct was intentional, which means it was his or her “conscious object” or purpose to cause the serious bodily injury.

It is important to understand that the prosecution (Commonwealth) doesn’t need to prove an actual injury, but only that the defendant took an actual or “substantial” step in which it was his or her intent to cause a life threatening injury to the victim.

Even a person with no criminal history could face a minimum of 5-10 years in prison followed by a substantially long period of probation.

法官还没判决呢！下个星期一上庭，先决定能不能保释，如果能，保释金是多少。

严重攻击罪是检控官提出的。我看了新闻后不知道还有严重攻击罪，上网查了才发现严重攻击罪和蓄谋杀人罪还是有所不同的。

第一楼里的有关严重攻击罪和蓄谋杀人罪的不同，英文解释已说的很清楚。当然随着案情证据的进一步提供，检控官会不会把严重攻击罪改成蓄谋杀人罪呢？等待新闻的进一步报道。

这两人到底在吵什么？法官说起因是个谜，真的是谜，报道提到的全是莫名其妙的事情，有没有房子，儿子在读什么学校，打什么工，等等，真的不明白到底吵什么？这些私人的事情关别人什么事。
