Roof Depreciation
Alberta is a province that's significantly impacted by wind and hail storms, and roof damage is the most common claim that occurs as a result. You currently have Roof Depreciation added to your policy. Only coverage for the depreciated value of your roof is available in the event of a claim - not the costs to fully repair or replace it. Having this will reduce your coverage and lower your insurance premium.
Example:
If wind or hail causes $5,000 in damage to your roof, but the depreciated value of your roof is only $2,000, you'll only receive the depreciated value of your roof ($2,000) if you make a claim.
When you decide to replace your roof, you can call us to remove this restriction from your policy.
