Housekeeping Room Attendant
Position Description:
Responsible for following all established and future Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)…these will include, but not limited to reporting to work, signing in and out, master, sectional or general keys, Sequence of Service and Lost and Found
Cleaning of the guestrooms include: making beds and changing sheets as required, dusting, vacuuming, placing furniture to its original position, attentive to the guests belongings by pairing shoes, folding clothes and ensure that all other personal belongings are cared for. Additional information as laid out in Sequence of Service.
Cleaning of the bathroom inside the guestrooms includes: cleaning all surfaces (horizontal and vertical), all sinks, taps, vanities, tubs, showers and walls and toilets. Additional information as laid out in Sequence of Service.
Responsible for the assistance in maintaining a clean and organized backspace of hotel
Responsible for maintaining a clean stocked and organized Housekeeping cart
Responsible for assisting in the removal of trash, recyclables and dirty linens as seen fit or directed
Expected to adhere to all Fairmont Hotels & Resorts standards that relate to Hygiene and Grooming, Health and Safety, Fire, Accommodations, Guestroom Standards and Guest Interactions
Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the backspaces. This will include but not limited to sweeping, moping, trash and recycling removal, stocking and organizing within the hotel.
Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the guest corridors. This will include but not limited to vacuuming, dusting, polishing, damp dusting, elevator track cleaning, and brass polishing and trash removal within the hotel.
Responsible for Dusting of walls, pictures, furnishings within the hotel.
Responsible for cleaning of glass, both in windows and pictures, within the hotel.
Responsible for stocking linens and guest supplies in appropriate places and to appropriate par levels.
Responsible for dirty linen removal, trash removal as directed by a supervisor.
Responsible for transportation of in room glassware and facilitating the washing of and restocking of the glassware within the hotel backspaces.
Responsible for the adherence to all Health and Safety Practices, Policies and initiatives
Expected to adhere to all Fairmont Hotels & Resorts standards that relate to Hygiene and Grooming, Health and Safety, Fire, Accommodations, Guestroom Standards, Guest Interactions, Lost and Found and radio protocol
Responsible for reporting all Maintenance Concerns as seen and alerting these to the Floor Supervisors or Housekeeping Manager
Report all concerns related to Engineering/Maintenance, Health and Safety, Security or Suspicious circumstances (including smells/sights and sound)
Responsible for removing all trash and recycling at the end of the day within the hotel.
Responsible for assisting with sorting and transporting of dirty linen as needed.
Responsible for the hanging delivery and placement of robes in the guest rooms.
Responsible for delivery of guest items from stock areas to guest rooms
Responsible for delivering on Fairmont’s Service Promise and Service Essentials to all guests.
Responsible for restocking of carts and shelves with guest room supplies.
Responsible for the making of cots and cribs, along with safety checks of these items when removing them from guest areas.
Responsible for hotel bathroom area refreshes, carpet cleaning, and general cleaning of hotel spaces.
Responsible for providing all standards for turndown service and evening refresh services.
Responsible for stripping out and placement into of rooms bedding, linen, terry, garbage’s, and other deliverable items.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
Physically fit and able to work well under pressure
Able to work well independently with little Supervision
Must be a team player and demonstrate organizational skills
Able to push, pull, lift up to 50+ lbs
Able to bend and kneel with comfort
To work laterally with departments to convey concerns and come to solutions
Able to understand the English language, both orally and written as well as speak the English language clearly so as to communicate with Colleagues and Guests
Must be able to make decisions individually and show problem solving ability
Excellent interpersonal skills
Physical Demands:
Lifting - Under 20lbs 50% of work time
Carrying - Over 20lbs 10% of work time
Pulling - Over 20lbs 50% of work time
Describe Motions - Bending, standing, reaching, and kneeling
Work Environment - Exposure to chemicals
Rate of Pay:
Starting: $14.00
6 Month: $14.31
