俺在网上随便找了一些definitive的解释：
你所谓的“客观”大概奏来自definitive里面包含的权威性，而“主观”大概奏是definite里面缺乏的权威性。
在俺看来，这个权威性来自于有理有据的分析和判断，而不是来自于神马其它的方面，比如权力的武断。
a definitive diagnosis来自于医生的专业知识，经验，以及对病淫了解，包括医疗检查等等。
A definitive book表示所有该谈及的方面已经谈到，其主题已经被全面的阐述。
A definitive guide to Thailand 一部完整全面权威的泰国指南。
所以，俺认为definitive 比较严重，涉及到一种全面细致的评估，对such hot water这样的问题显得有些牛刀和杀鸡的不匹配。
要俺说，俺会说such hot water这样的表达莫有绝对的（definite）的对错，而不会说莫有权威性的（definitive）对错。当然，这只是俺的一个个淫倾向，并不是说definitive不能在这里用。对俺来说，这类的对错的不确定性更多源于“肤浅”的习惯而非神马更深刻复杂的原因，which requires a definitive analysis。
