As far as I know,all the title "engineer" should be licensed in Canada. Can you explain that to me how your title comes from? Is it ture that you are doing engineering work?What's your pay range(Not asking for the exact amount)? Thanks a lot. I don't mean to hurt you,actually. I'm just not willing to see the misleading to new immigrants.

if you get the APEG membership, you are entitle to be called P.E.Engineer,otherwise, it's illegal to claim yourself a P.E.Engineer.

but nowday,many engineer position open,they couldn't find enough P.E engineer,of course ,if you are a P.E.Engieer,the payment will be at least from $30 to 70/h, and many companies understand that many new immigrants are experts,so they are willing to pay $18 to 25 to get a person who can handle the professional job,but only pay half of P.E.engieer.

that's the way we survive.

so try your best to get P.E Engineer title after one year local professional experience,then you can earn much more than you image.

I didn't say I 'm a P.E.Engineer,just mechanical engineer,because the employer likes to use me as a engineer,not P.E.Enginner.

maybe in some big company,they say: you are a mechanical specialist ...

Thaks for your quick response. But i'm still a little bit confused by your posting. I'dont know what's the difference between"P.E.Engineer" and "Mechanical Engineer",as they all titled as "Engineer".Just like the Cardiovescular Dr. or Renal Dr., Can you tell which one is a real doctor? One more point that I want to mention is that I know you are an enthusiastic friend on this forum and are willing to help more chinese immigrants,but I feel it's not appropriate to advise others sending resume to you,since other people's privacy are invaded by you. The appropriate way is to publish the e-mail adress of the person who is responsible for hiring. Wish you are the one who has been authorized by your boss!

because my boss hire me as a mechanical engineer, he pay me as a mechanical enigeer,my payment is twice as much of a Technician.........

in canada,reference is more important, even you want to find a dishwasher position could be tough without friend recommend.

try it,boy, try by yourself.......then you will see what life is.If you don't want to send resume to me.

my friend knows who I'm,he doesn't know who you are,that's why he asks me to recommend engineer for him; that's why you are still struggling to look for a job...................

I'll never risk to recommend a person who is not worthy to be recommended by me, my credit is my wealth, because my friend trust me,not you..

Yeah,Pal, don't be upset! As I mentioned above,you can call yourself whatever you like, even "president","Chairman", who cares?

One more thing is that don't look down on those "technicians" who may be making more money than you do.
