在加拿大换枫叶卡需要有效的中国护照，换护照又要有效的枫叶卡，假如非常不幸，这2个证件都过期了或者都丢失了，那么从操作的技术角度上讲，如何更换枫叶卡和中国护照？

技术上可行，试试这样：先申请枫叶卡（因为只需要护照copy件，不管有无过期），拿到新卡后再在总领馆申请中国护照；如无成功申请到新卡的把握，在总领馆可解释为正在续新卡，可用续卡缴费收据和其他证据给工作人员看。

但官网是说换枫叶卡需要valid的证件，假如护照过期，国内身份证和户口是登录前的，但是也过期，或者登录后已经换了新身份证和户口，所以就没什么有效证件可提供。那么只有申请人的家庭成员的说明了，是吗？

• the passport or travel document you had when you became a permanent resident (including the passport page that was stamped when you arrived in Canada and became a permanent resident) or
