This position is responsible for the collection of coins deposited into street parking meters and the delivery of
collections to the appropriate facility.
Responsibilities include the safe operation of a panel van, strict adherence to the safety and security protocols, lifting
and pushing of heavy loads of coin, coordination of collections using the most efficient and effective methods, making notes and basic calculations, using a handheld computer and the basic maintenance & repair of coin carts and bins.
Performs other related duties as required.
Key Abilities & Experience:
Ability to lift and push heavy objects.
Ability to walk long distances in all weather conditions.
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and to maintain good attendance.
Knowledge of safe work procedures related to security protocols.
Proven ability to deal tactfully with the public and maintain a good working relationship with co-workers.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have completed Grade 10, and have training or experience working outdoors with tools,
or equipment. A current and valid BC drivers license is a requirement of this position; transportation arrangements
must meet operational requirements of the Department. A Police Record Check is a requirement of this position; a
clearance requires the absence of any criminal charges or convictions related to this position. You will be required to
undergo a physical aptitude evaluation. You will be available to work weekends, evenings, Statutory holidays and vacation periods (i.e. summer & Christmas).
