Production Worker - Seasonal

Responsible for general duties involving physical handling of product, materials, supplies and cooler service equipment.

Descriptions:
Set up machinery ensuring all production materials are available.
Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed.
Visually inspect production run and document results.
Determine and report malfunctions to appropriate parties.
Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned area.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
Standing for extended periods, walking, lifting, climbing, crouching, bending, reaching and stooping.

REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
1-3 year of general work experience.
Prior production/manufacturing machine operation experience preferred.
Previous experience within high-speed industrial environment.
Ability to operate manufacturing equipment.
Knowledge of industrial technology a plus.

加拿大沃尔玛遭虐员工
获赔146万创纪录

加拿大沃尔玛温莎店一名前雇员，投诉遭店经理精神虐待，日前被法庭裁定获146万元赔偿金，创下加国有关雇用诉讼赔偿额的纪录。

据温莎星报报导，沃尔玛温莎店前副经理鲍彻(Meredith Boucher)投诉，2009年在六个月的时间内，她被商店经理欺凌，包括被骂作白痴，或让她在其他人面前数玩具，借以证明她不会数数，令她自尊受到伤害。鲍彻於2009年11月离开商店。

陪审团本月初做出裁定，认为鲍彻应该获得不低於120万元的赔偿金。这笔惩罚性的赔偿金额成为加拿大顾用诉讼中最大额的赔偿。陪审团认为，42岁的鲍彻是由於被凌辱而被迫辞职，至今仍未受雇。

鲍彻的律师在法庭上指称，鲍彻所受的是故意施加的精神虐待，并遭到一名副经理的攻击，该副经理接连两天打鲍彻的胳膊，之後被解雇。

设在密西沙加的沃尔玛总部公司事务及媒体主管Alex Roberton表示，公司对判决很失望，并对不寻常的高额赔偿金感到意外。公司正在研究相关细节，并考虑所有可能的选择，包括提出上诉。

被指控的经理平诺克(Jason Pinnock)目前担任咸美顿Ancaster沃尔玛的经理，他表示自己被要求不对该宗诉讼发表看法。他曾在法庭作证时指称自己并未不恰当地对待鲍彻。

沃尔玛在一宗声明中表示，沃尔玛坚持在任何时间尊重每个人的文化，没有例外。公司将继续在各个部门推广尊重。沃尔玛并不想讨论平诺克的现况，以及是否接受再培训或指导。

温莎星报称，另有三宗沃尔玛前女性雇员针对平诺克及其继任者的投诉，称他们虐待员工。

咸美顿律师Ed Canning表示，他相信该判罚金额会被推翻，因为没有法律先例。但这仍是一个重大判决，将提高雇主对工作场所虐待的控制意识。这类事件若在同一人身上再次发生，员工再次投诉，法官和陪审团将被告知此人有虐待下属的历史，并没有接受任何再培训，则将会引发愤怒并导致更高的处罚。

240刀 含税 学完了，今天到库房开第一天工，折腾了一天叉车。等证书邮来了，工厂还要留复印件存档。工作6个月后，工厂会把这240刀给我报销了。

感觉，叉车看着容易，开起来不简单。

也和森林说一声，谢谢你介绍的渔场，正因为有了渔场的工作经验，和那里出的reference，才有机会找到目前这个13块一小时的仓库工作。虽然工作环境比较差，但对于刚刚过来3个月的我来说，已经很满足了。这个工作时间比较固定，休息周末。可以利用周末好好补习一下英语，也许能找个周末的esl上上课。如果知道有好的课程也请和我说一声。等英语补习好了，再找一份更好的工作。

好样的！经常倒车注意别人安全！叉子要是从货物后面露出来，操作时如果忽略了可能会损坏墙壁以及其他货物。熟能生巧的活，counterbalance 我以前很熟练，不同的工作环境练的技巧都不一样的。铲车练熟了，13刀很快就会变成税后的收入了

Nature: Full Time (35 hours/week)

Vulnerable immigrant population program (VIPP) is designed for immigrants and refugees who have multiple needs and face significant integration barriers that might adversely affect their everyday living and pursuit of personal involvement. The program offers wraparound service support service to this vulnerable immigrant population, with an emphasis on building their capacity to cope with their life situation, function successfully in everyday life, and access Settlement services, learning opportunities and support systems.

The Outreach Settlement Workers will deliver services through case management, providing wraparound service to vulnerable refugees, immigrant individuals and/or families. The workers will also conduct group services such as life skills, literacy and essential skills development workshops.
Reports to: Coordinator/Case Supervisor, Vulnerable Immigrant Population Program

Duties:
Perform client outreach, intake and identify immigrants individuals or families with significant barriers to integration
Design action plan with clients and monitor the progress of clients
Provide wraparound services that include providing settlement information and counseling, assisting in access to services, performing home visitation, seeking peer support or mentoring for clients. etc.
Conducting life skills, literacy, or essential skills workshops
Provide clients with transition support and follow up after the clients have exited the program
Case manage each client
Writing of clients reports
Writing of program progress reports
Other tasks as assigned by manager or supervisor

Qualifications:
Education, Training & Experience
Degree in Social Work, Social Science or in a related field.
Other desired certificates: counseling, conflict resolution, case management
Demonstrate experience and a strong understanding of case planning and case management principles and techniques
Demonstrate sensitivity to and/or experience working with issues facing vulnerable refugees and immigrants, including social, cultural, emotional, mental health, health and sexual orientation issues
Demonstrate language and cultural proficiency that is applicable to the various source counties of vulnerable populations in their service area
Demonstrate knowledge and experience in cross-cultural communication and service methods appropriate to clients with low literacy and low English skills
Demonstrate knowledge about local community resources, particularly professional and specialized services for at-risk or marginalized populations, and how to use those resources for the benefit of the clients
Demonstrate knowledge of the BC systems and the capacity to connect clients to mainstream services
