This kind of college allows you to study some "academic" English which is more useful for the prospecitve students, and meanwhile you can choose some post-secondary courses which can be transferred to another post-secondary institution (such as UBC, SFU, UVic, BCIT, Langara, Kwantlen, Emily Carr, etc.)to study...
That's what I told you before (studying in Kwantlen, same as VCC but more nearby)...
However, the ESL program here cost a little bit more...
If your boy has a saving (total saving in all banks) under $5,000 (in the past 6 months) and doesn't have any propoties (cars, house), he can apply for the ABESAP(Adult Basic Education Student Assistance Program) which pays for his tuition textbook of ESL program.
He also can apply for HNPT CSG(High Need Part Time Canada Study Grant) for the post-secondary transferable course while studying ESL...
