The show of Olympic opening ceremony is a reflection of the reality of Chinese social problems. My impression of the show is it has a gorgeous outside but unreflecting inside. There are too many bewildering technologies used in the show, but the director lacks the ability to control these modernized facilities to serve the purpose of the show. Perhaps he doesn't know what is the purpose of the show at all, he just does it for merely keeping his good salary.

This ceremony is not a pageant by which a village emperor celebrates his son's birthday or marries his daughter to someone. It is organized and directed by the topmost ranked Chinese artists and elites so it is supposed to be a representation by a thoughtful, innovative and creative way not a fickle but dull way.

This raises a question: by which way can our country have a splendid future with keeping those dimwitted guys sticking on top rank of our system and leting them continuingly oppressing other low ranked intellectuals who have more talent of ingenuity and creativity? Up till now, I can't see any gleam of light by such way which can lead China to get any kind of success without being WalMart's cheap labour force. It's really disturbing.

美国奥委会表示，在北京遇害身亡的美国游客是美国排球队教练的亲戚。
另据中国新华社报道，北京时间星期六（8月9日）中午左右，一名男子在北京市东城区鼓楼城楼二楼上突然持械袭击一男一女两名美国游客和一名中国导游，造成一死两伤。疑凶也当场自尽。
报道说，行凶男子随后从鼓楼跃下身亡。据现场捡获证件显示，疑凶是47岁的浙江杭州人唐永明。
目前北京警方已经对案件展开调查。
法新社引述美国驻华大使馆发言人说，他们已经得悉事件，目前正与死伤者家属和中国当局紧密联系。
鼓楼是北京市中心的著名古迹，也是北京中轴线的北端。鼓楼始建元朝年间，曾多次遭焚毁而重建，现存的鼓楼在明朝嘉靖18年（1539年）建成。
这起事件发生在北京奥运比赛正式展开的第一天。
北京在奥运开幕前加强了首都的保安，类似以外国游客为目标的袭击事件在北京并不常见。
据估计，在奥运会举行期间，北京将共有45万名外国游客到访。
