Dear Memebers,
Based on the weather forecast, there will be 60% chance of thunder shower tomorrow. Therefore, we have no choice but to cancel tomorrow's Blueberry U-pick event and postpone it to Aug. 25, Saturday of next week (if rains again, to Aug. 26, Sunday of next week). An email will be sent out on Aug. 24, 2007 (Friday of next week) to confirm the event.

Dear Members,
The Society is going to organize a blueberry U-pick event for our members on August 18th. This is a good chance for our members going out to enjoy the summer together and meet your member friends there. The Society will pay $10 for the blueberry for each member account (family or single. Member list will be checked at the site, and new members are always welcome to join at any time.). You are supposed to be responsible for your own transportation. Detail direction is in the attached file. Please be aware that it will take about one and a half hours to reach there from Halifax, and please make sure that you arrive there before 10:30AM. We would like to finish the check out (pay $10 to you when you check out) before 12:00PM. After the U-pick, we recommend you may go to Grand Pre for a picnic (that is NOT the Society's organized activity and you may bring your own lunch.).
Our recommended schedule is as follows:
09:00 am Leave Halifax
10:30 am Arrive the Blueberry Acres U-Pick
12:00 pm Check out the Blueberry Acres U-Pick
12:15 pm Go to Grand Pre ( http://www.grand-pre.com/)
12:45 pm Picnic at Grand Pre
If you have any question, please contact any of our Executives. If it will be raining or the owner cancel their opening, we will let you know through email one day before.

Mother Nature dictates when the U-pick is open. Based on experience, we are generally open the last two weeks of August and the first two weeks of September. Please call ahead if you plan to visit Blueberry Acres outside that time period to check if our U-pick is open.
How to get there: It is easy to get to Blueberry Acres from anywhere in Nova Scotia!
First find Highway 101 that runs between Halifax and Yarmouth through the Annapolis Valley, and head towards Kentville/New Minas (you can also take Highway 1 - the scenic Evangeline Trail if you are touring). We're only about 10 km (6 miles) from the highway down Middle Dyke Road.
（1）from Highway 101, take Exit 12 and turn north at the bottom of the ramp
（2）go straight through three sets of lights and one stop sign
（3）at the second stop sign, turn left and go approximately 100 feet and turn right.
（4）travel about 1 km and look to your left to see the blueberry bushes..
That's us in the large gold building with the burgundy trim. We are at 1225 Middle Dyke Road. Come on in!
If you're coming in from Highway 1, through New Minas, you are already on Commercial Street. At the set of lights right before the Shell gas station turn north. Now you are on Middle Dyke Road and only have one more set of lights and two stop signs to go from there.
