Linux Application Developer and Tester
The successful candidate will work on application development in a Linux environment.
As per Government of Canada Financial Assistance Program Requirements, the ideal candidate should be between the ages of 18-30, hold a diploma or a degree, be a Canadian resident or citizen. As such this is technically classified a 'junior position', though we are looking for the most talented/qualified applicants. A great amount of technical/professional experience will be gained in this position.
Most Duties:
1 * Work on application development independently or with other developers within the team.
2 * Maintain existing applications and make changes on it according to user/customers' requirement.
3 * Define test plan and perform test activities.
4 * Assist support technician to resolve problems or bugs found in the application software.
Important Skills for this Position:
1 Comfortable with Linux platform development.
2 Ability to develop PHP Web application is a must.
3 Must have HTML/CSS/JavaScript/AJAX experience.
4 Experience on PHP application frameworks like Smarty, CodeIgniter, Kohana, etc.
5 Linux C/C++ GUI application experience, familiar with SDL or OPENGL library.
6 Object-Oriented programming skills is required.
7 Application software testing knowledge.
8 Tools experience like Eclipse C++ IDE, gcc, gdb, make, svn etc.
9 Graphic design tools like PS, GIMP is an asset.
10 Excellent and clear written and spoken English abilities
11 Own car and full drivers license
This will be a permanent role. You will need to be able to commute to our office in Surrey Mon-Fri. Bus services are minimal so a vehicle would be required.
