友情提醒关于appreciate一词表示“感谢”的用法

总是看到I would be appreciated ... 这样的错误句式，感觉这是一个普遍错误，而用appreciate表达“感谢”又经常需要用到，貌似有必要公开纠错一下？

当appreciate作“感谢”之意使用时，不妨就把它看成是thank一词的“升级版”。是不是这样一来，便能马上发现I would be appreciated的错误？明明是要感谢别人，现在却变成了I would be thanked （我将被感谢），啊哦

Well, 既然appreciate≈thank，聪明的各位移友一定接下来便能记住它的正确用法：

1）I would appreciate it very much if... “倘若......我将不胜感激”。

2）It would be highly appreciated if ... 和1)的意思差不多。

注意哦，毕竟appreciate只是约等于thank，所以用法上还是有些小小差异。我们可以直接thank一个人，却要appreciate一件事。这也就是为什么上述两句里，都是appreciate与it搭配，而不是I would appreciate you/You are highly appreciated.

如果还要深究为什么appreciate不能直接与人称代词搭配在一起？不妨这样想：appreciate的本意里有“珍视、欣赏”这一层含义，i.e. "value sth. highly"（注：此处value为动词）。想想看，如果你老是说“我很珍视你啦”，“我很欣赏你啦”，是不是太肉麻了一点？

最后，我只是说说我来记住这词用法的一些思路，不严谨也不学术，仅供娱乐参考而已。

She heard a loud whisper: 'Fuck the Japs,'

'Who said that? I want to know right now!' she angrily demanded.

Little Johnny put his hand up, 'General MacArthur, 1945.'

At that point, a student in the back said, 'I'm gonna puke.'

The teacher glares around and asks, 'All right!!! Now who said that!?'

Again, Little Johnny says, 'George Bush to the Japanese Prime Minister, 1991.'

Now furious, another student yells, 'Oh yeah? Suck this!'

Little Johnny jumps out of his chair waving his hand and shouts to the teacher , 'Bill Clinton, to Monica Lewinsky, 1997!'

Now with almost mob hysteria someone said, 'You little shit. If you say anything else, I'll kill you.'

Little Johnny frantically yells at the top of his voice, 'Michael Jackson to the child witnesses testifying against him, 2004.'

The teacher fainted.

As the class gathered around the teacher on the floor, someone said, 'Oh shit, We're screwed!'
