Reporting to Manager of Finance, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Finance and Information Technology and to the Manager of Finance, and general accounting assistance to the Finance and Information Technology Department.
You will have: completion of a community college program in administration or management; certificate or diploma in accounting will be considered an asset; knowledge of the social service sector and awareness of women’s issues; knowledge of culturally diverse communities; one to three years experience working within an administrative department; superior organizational and administrative skills, as well as a proven ability to work to deadlines; superior accuracy to detail required; ability to work under pressure, respond to changing priorities and function as a highly efficient assistant; ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds; must possess a positive and friendly manner; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to think strategically, plan ahead and anticipate needs and issues; demonstrated good judgement and interpersonal skills; advanced computer competency in Excel spreadsheets; computer competency in word processing, and accounting software (GP Dynamics and FRX preferred); experience working with volunteers and committees. The hours of work for this position are 35 hours per week (at times it may be necessary to work in excess of 35 hours per week during audits: including evenings and weekends). The salary for this position is $39,801 per annum (Level 3), plus comprehensive benefits. Note: restriction on vacation during the annual audit (approximately 3 weeks per year).
