Paris, France - Chevrolet Europe will introduce a diesel race car concept, the WTCC (World Touring Car Competition) Ultra at the Paris Motor Show this fall. The ready-to-drive concept car uses a 190-hp diesel engine.
Chevrolet will also unveil its new Chevrolet Epica Diesel, which will be launched in 2007; it is the company's second production diesel vehicle, following the Captiva Diesel compact SUV announced earlier. The Epica's 2.0-litre diesel produces 150 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque at 2000 rpm, and accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 9.7 seconds, with an estimated fuel economy of 6.1 L/100 km. The engine was developed jointly by GM Korea and GM Powertrain, and is made in South Korea.
