Hello, The Québec government has adopted An Act to simplify the process for establishing electricity distribution rates. The Act stipulates the following: a rate freeze as of April 1, 2020 an amount of approximately $500 million to be quickly issued to customers who received at least one electricity bill in their name in 2018 or 2019 You don’t need to do a thing. Since you received at least one electricity bill in your name in 2018 or 2019, you will automatically receive the credit between the end of January and April 1, 2020. The credit will only appear once on one of your bills, with the description Credit note. Please note that Hydro‑Québec will never use text messages or email to demand a payment or to send a refund.
