We are a working class couple looking for a caring, responsible nanny to care for our 11-year-old boy who has autism. You must love children and be very patient, reliable, trustworthy, and having good communication and interpersonal skills. You will be required to work weekdays from 8am – 4pm, with occasional evenings/weekends for which you will be paid overtime. We are a non-smoking household and would prefer a non-smoker.

Main duties

• In-Home child care provider performs some or all of the following duties:
• • Supervise and care for child in employer's home
  • Plan, prepare and serve meals for child and may perform other housekeeping duties
  • Oversee child's activities, such as meals and rest periods, as instructed by employer
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
  • Instruct child in personal hygiene
  • Instruct child playing with other children if there are other children around
  • Tend to the emotional well-being of child and support their social development
  • Discipline child according to the methods requested by the parents
  • Organize and participate in activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings
  • Take child to and from school

Employment requirements

• Fluent in English
• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Good interpersonal skills and communication skills.
• Being prepared to work with an autistic child.
• Completion of a training program in child care or a related field is preferred.
• Child care or household experience is an assert.

Employment target groups: Newcomers to Canada; people with disability. Students. Seniors.
Term of contract: Full time
Wage: from $15 to $ 15.5 per hour depending on your qualification, experiences and performance.
Starting date: as soon as possible
