This intermediate mobile application developer position will belong to the Mobile & Syndication team in Production Services for Digital Programming & Business Development in Toronto.
As the programmer you will be responsible for implementing and supporting CBC branded mobile applications for platforms such as the iPhone, Android, Palm Pre and Blackberry.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing time estimates and effort required for development;
- Implementing, unit testing and code reviewing technical solutions;
- Working with other team members: PM, Designers, QA Analysts, Platform Administrators;
- Producing technical documentation and user documentation;
- Maintaining and supporting existing technical solutions;
- Extending technical solutions from the Content Management System;
- Managing risk effectively with all stakeholders (internal and external);
- Researching and evaluating emerging Mobile and Mobile audio & video technologies.
As the successful candidate you will have:
- A university/college degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent;
- Strong foundational knowledge of Object Oriented principles, Software Development Life Cycle and Agile software development;
- Minimum of 3 years of programming experience with C++, Objective-C or Java (J2ME);
- Experience on Mac OS, Unix/Linux environments, and Windows;
- Some experience on iPhone, Blackberry, Symbian, Android, Windows Mobile;
- iPhone SDK and Cocoa Touch experience will be considered an asset;
- Client relations and/or technical support experience;
- Ability to conceptualize, design, prototype and implement applications;
- Creative problem solving skills;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Good organizational and time management skills;
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies;
- The ability to handle multiple priorities;
- Experience with XHTML, Javascript, XML and XSLT, AJAX, JSON will be considered assets.
