CLSCs
CLSCs are government-run community health clinics that provide a range of services (CLSC is an acronym for a lengthy and rarely used full name). If you have a Quebec medicare card, CLSCs can be a useful front-line health-care provider. If you feel sick, call them. A nurse will call you back, interview you and then give you an appointment with the on-duty MD if need be. Beats the hell out of the emergency room, since you get to wait at home.
