上星期在sportchek买了双“号称防滑”的-40c雪鞋，今天就差点滑到。特别是在人行道的薄冰（看不出）。赶紧把鞋洗了（还很新，还好只穿了5天）只是解释了一下并不防滑，还让退（收据上写穿过的不退），这里买东东就是好。还是要到the shoe company 看看，他们的防滑鞋品种多。
等bus时观察一下，很多人走草地上的雪，果然不滑。

Yak Trax - do they work
I've used both ice grips and Yak trax. They both work, but in different places. I find Yak trax work great on hard snow and soft ice, without getting heavy or pulling off. I find them treacherous on glare ice and kind of slippery on hard pavement. The original Ice Grips work well on ice and pavement, but could scoop up a lot of snow and eventually pull off. The new Ice Grips seem better, in my opinion; more or less the best of both worlds, YMMV.

I have the ice grips but do find they fall off sometimes. Then they don't go back on, cause the rubber is frozen in it's stretched out way.
My fav has become drilling screws right into my shoes. Two at the toes, two at the ball of the foot, and two at the heel. You need to get hex head type of screws and little 3/8"ones... just do them yourself. When they wear down, drill out, and drill in new ones. A $3 solution to a $60 problem!

I have the ice grips but do find they fall off sometimes. Then they don't go back on, cause the rubber is frozen in it's stretched out way.
My fav has become drilling screws right into my shoes. Two at the toes, two at the ball of the foot, and two at the heel. You need to get hex head type of screws and little 3/8"ones... just do them yourself. When they wear down, drill out, and drill in new ones. A $3 solution to a $60 problem!
I agree with this. I have an older pair of shoes that I have done that to. Haven't used them yet this year, but today would be a perfect day to get them out again. Snow, ice, snow on top.
