我老公也是IT的，准备移了，看了你的帖子真的受益不少。请问，有没有需要日语好的IT工作呢？他日语好，在日本工作了几年。主要搞cobol和数据库，我希望他把他的专长用上。

这个不是太清楚，好像需要日语的工作也不多，一是因为日本不会成为这里的外包地，二是这里买软件给日本也不赚钱。

至于开发语言的行情，我不是太了解。但好像很多大公司需要的，但是需求量不大。找到了就是高工资的活，因为会的人也不多。

这里的系统，包括超市，银行也是很老很老的系统，总是需要人维护的。但是市场份额很小。如果想赶快找工作的话，可以考虑其他开发语言。

我是家庭团聚过来的新移民，今天是到维多利亚的第6天，一切都是新的，什么都还没弄懂，迷糊中。

慢慢来，不着急，先吃好喝好睡好，然后一切都会好的。

楼主美文全部拜读,实在是受益非浅.本人找工约一月,每次都只是猎头面试,自我感觉谈的还可以,但不知为何不再有下问.而至今未收到任何雇主的面试.请问你觉得是市场问题还是简历或面试的问题呢?

一个月，慢慢来。这事贵在坚持。

给猎头打电话聊聊天，让别人记住你。如有机会，也最好直接去公司投简历，至少能了解公司为什么不要你。

Within short four months, this couple seems to have used both a telescope and a microscope and known even the subtle part of the local rules. Amazing!!!

They did not just run into it by chance. In fact, they bumped into so many problems which could possibly be encountered by many other newcomers. However, they learned how to deal with them the Canadian way, the unique way, and hence the smart way. Show something small to prove something big: Can you read the interviewer's minds? You clever IT guys.

It has been proved again that the policy here is more Canadian way or no way, than My way or highway.

Canadian way，这个说的很对，尤其是Vancouver way。也是我在后来的经历中不断深刻体会到的，和我们中国人的想法和做法差别很大。有机会多去了解本地文化会很有帮助。

大多数西人还是比较友好的，比较容易相处。其次，多看看新闻、评论，甚至电视剧，关注他们关注的事物，观察他们的思维和处事方式，这样在一起的时候会有共同话题，也会越来越融洽。再就是经常交流、提问，因为知道我们是新移民，有些人会很乐意分享自己的经验和教我们本地的东西。
