宣传员，真是麻烦你了，AP课程我基本明白了，是可以选修甚至自学的，然后参见考试即可，但是IB的课程是必须上课吗？比如法语不会，就不让你上IB的课程吗？（我们应该过去上10年级）有没有像AP一样，不上课，但是可以参加考试？

IB的课程是必须上课. but you have two choices. program and course.

program: you are in a program and will receive the IB diploma if you graduate from the program. (if not, you still graduate with high school diploma if you reach the requirement)

course: take individual IB courses

But from what I know, you have to take all the pre-IB grade 10 courses which will include the french if it's the case.

Edit: I get an email from the Bedford Road Collegiate in Saskatoon today (Mar. 02, 2011), and they have a CERTIFICATE IB program that student may study isolated IB classes IB French in this case would be an option.

Is this a good news for you? I'll clarify this with schools in Regina.

我的理解是机会相当，但比例就不一定了。要进名校还是要看绝对实力的。

think about this way, you'll have more alumni here in SK if you graduate from Usk or URegina, even Siast.

and URegina even gurantees their graduates a job within 6 months. if not, they'll waive up to one year's worth (30 credits) of additional undergraduate tuition and course fees.

the two Us have a very strong relationship with local employers...

I have lots of colleagues from USK/URegina/SIAST, and I know many Chinese students got a job in gov or big companies right after their graduation.

不过，据我们最近的考察可知，萨市的Walter Murray Collegiate是一所本市最好的高中，里面的设施和教育质量都非常好，华人学生人不多但普遍学习成绩很好。这样非常方便学生学习英语，不想温哥华，每个学校都能有不少的中国学生。校长是个很不错的guy.

这么说来，其实没必要一定纠结在IB课程学校里。但是等签证下来时，估计孩子已经是高一上得差不多了，我又实在不想孩子到国内传统高中去浪费时间，白白受折磨！国内上完一年IB，再到萨省续读，估计衔接上会很麻烦。好处是国内的IB也是全英文授课，到了萨省语言上会稍微省力些。
