也就是说大概在体检后5个月，我们这个月的体检要等到圣诞前后了吧？

我是这样理解的，签证有效期为体检日起一年内，在签证过期之前4、5个月我们就可收到护照、可入境，自我希望如此吧^_^

You are right. They requested to send passport within 30 days, and indicated the expire date of landing is Feb. 2013 --- in my case, one year after ME.

Feb. 2008 Sponsor Application
Nov. 2011 Sponsorship approved
Feb. 2012 ME.
July 2012 Submit Passport

Since parents are in Canada, called Ottawa and was informed to apply Buffalo Visa Office.
Today's passport was requested (Email) by Seattle Office. Maybe it is closer?! We are in Vancouver.

Can you please share your online procedure updates?

After sponsorship approved, we inquired which visa office should be, as parents have been in Canada. It doesn't make sense for me to apply at either Beijing or HongKong.

We started processing your application on April 4, 2012.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

So far I only have 2 lines, no IP.
We received your application for permanent residence on September 24, 2007.

Medical results have been received. (Jul 23, 2012 as I checked)

Hope next step is DM, haha.

2009年5月担保申请,2012年5月寄出补料,6月12日收到补料齐全信,
6月22日收到担保通过信,CASE转OTTOWA,今天收到邮件要求体检和
提交无犯罪证明.
好开心!

No. Each visit they stay less than 12 months, as they have multiple-entry visa.

我是26日收到邮件要求体检和提交无犯罪证明.我在4月份补材料时已交了无犯罪证明。你补材料时交了没有？

我5月补料时交了无犯罪公证扫描件,不是原件.

Thanks hellovansky for sharing your case.

CIC website indicated the instruction below:

"Applicants for Permanent Residence

You must select the visa office that serves your country of nationality or the country where you have been legally admitted for at least one year."

My parents also have multiple entry visa. Since it requires that the applicants (parents in this case) to be legally admitted for at least one year in Canada, I am hesitated to call CIC to change the Visa office from Beijing or HongKong to Buffalo.

I am just wondering if the CIC agent ever questioned your parents had been in Canada continuously for at least one year. Or did you just tell the CIC agent that your parents were in Canada and were not planning to go back to China for at least a couple months?
