回复: 为“一刀切”大声叫好!
Hi, Bob (Bob Dechert, MP from my district),
As a voter I am happy to hear the news that in the latest budget proposal, Conservative party has included a chapter to completely cut the immigration program of investor and entrepreneur.
However, I think that is not far enough.
Canada should reconsider this so called “deemed non-resident of Canada”.
Fundamentally this group of citizens, officially lives abroad, and has no economic connection to Canada, so arguably, has not used government services.
But, in reality, this only gives those so called citizens, an easy way to avoid Canadian tax, while enjoy whatever Canada is offering to its citizen.
And Canadian passport, becomes nothing but a convenient backup.
Do we really need this kind of citizen? A bunch people claim they are loyal to Canada but unwilling to devote a single penny for his/her home country?
I don’t think so.
Please follow what USA has done from the very beginning, start to tax for the global income, completely scrap this so called “deemed non-resident of Canada”.
