Family:
1. your nearest and dearest --- your family
2. blood is thicker than water --- connection to family is more impotant tan anything else
3. run in the family/run in someone's family --- to be a common quality in a particular family
4. take after someone --- to be like a parent or older relative,either in chaaracter or in appearance
5. a chip off the old block --- a child whose character is similat to his or her mother's or father's
6. be born with a silver spoon in your mouth --- to have a opportunities or advantages becauce you are from a rich family
7. hand down something/ hand something down --- to give something old or used to someone in your family who is younger or lives longer
8. wear the pants (in the family) --- to be in control of the house or the family
Home
1. home away from home --- a place where you feel as comfortable as in your own home
2. feel at home --- to feel comfortable and relaxed
3. in the bosom of your family (slightly formal) --- feeling safe and comfortable
Leaving home
1. leave the nest / fly the nest --- to leave your parent's home
2. pull up roots --- to move away from a place where you have lived and felt comfortable
Making or being in new home
1. settle in / put down roots (in a place) --- to live someplace new and start to feel you belong there
2. settle down --- to stay in one place and start behaving in a move regular way
