As soon as you are taking ESL and receiving funding from the government, the health insurance fee will be completely exempted right away. (Please note some requirements should be matched) However, you can only apply for that only on the condition of residing in Alberta for 3 months, rather than immediately. In other words, perhaps you are capable of acquiring the funding after you move to Calgary for 6 months because of the residence and application period.
The insurance fee will be exempted as long as you resident in Alberta for 1 year and have a low income in Canada.
In addition, the childcare fee to be received from the government is limited to $550/month; ie it will not be totally covered. Nevertheless, the market price of that is $600 to $ 700 in average; hence, you have to pay additional $50 or 150 for that. Also, another point should be mentioned is, as the majority of childcare institutes are full, your children will be put on the waiting list for a period.
