Munro Ltd. needs to increase its staff by 100 new employees over the coming months. Located five minutes from Barrie, Munro Ltd. is the largest concrete and steel manufacturing facility for infrastructure products in Canada. The company is recognized world-wide as a pioneer in advanced manufacturing and use of robotics.
“Supporting the significant hiring needs of surrounding communities is of strategic interest to the City of Barrie,” says Mayor Jeff Lehman.”All area communities will benefit from Munro’s ongoing growth. It’s great news for residents of Barrie, Essa, and our region as these are high quality industrial jobs, available immediately,” Mayor Lehman added.
Rapid growth in the infrastructure sector, combined with significant new product development and innovation has resulted in the need for Munro Ltd. to expand its facility to nearly 450,000 square feet on its 110 acre property and to increase its staffing from 250 to 350. “In order to deliver and expand on our current projects, we need to ramp up our staffing very quickly,” says John Munro, President and CEO of Munro Ltd. “We are seeking highly-skilled, motivated machine operators, engineers, millwrights, welders and electricians to join our team and make a career at Munro Ltd.”
Located on Simcoe Road #56 in Essa Township, “Munro Ltd. has been a long-standing quality employer in our community and we applaud their commitment to their employees and contribution to the Township’s economy,” said Mayor Terry Dowdall of Essa Township.
