Dear Sir or Madam:

I am the applicant of immigration to Canada and I am writing this letter to enquire my immigration application.

My name is ***. We are Shanghai residents of People's Republic of China. Our application File Number is *********, which was issued in ****, 2005. It has been eight months and we have received no feedback with regard to our immigration application. Should there be any missing document in the application package, your advice is highly appreciated and we will furnish the submission of the desired information as soon as possible.

As you may understand that immigrating to Canada has been a long-time wish as well as an important and significant decision in our life. We started to know Canada many years ago whose prosperity and achievements, together with its diversity and colorfulness in social and cultural development impressed us to a significant degree. During our process of applying immigration to Canada, we began knowing and understanding Canada much more. Since the very beginning we were in close touch with Ms. *****, my wife’s close friend and ex-colleague. She immigrated to Canada a few years ago and now leads a merry life in Canada, studying and working. Her successful experience was a great encouragement for us to make a firm determination to seek our success in immigrating and living in Canada.

Not only do we prepare and lodge our immigration application, but we also learn from our friends, media and other channels about how to make our immigration a fluent journey to the fully adaptation to the new life. After consulting, we selected Toronto as our landing city for its un-doubtful position in both economical and cultural aspects in Canada. We understand to settle down in Toronto after landing will be a fair challenge going through all the procedures and errands – to get the permanent resident card, which has to be handled right after landing, the application of SIN Card, Credit Card, Health Card, etc, plus the apartment rent, child care, telephone, mobile phone. The good thing is, with the help and support that might required at early stage from our friends in Toronto, we are sure we will take care of these procedures in a quick and efficient manner.

During the first week of our stay in Toronto we will probably have to stay at Ms. ****’s apartment or Condo. We plan to rent apartment in the traffic and commercial viable areas in Toronto. As a matter of fact my wife and I already started to browse the websites about leasing (as well as recruiting) of Toronto – to better understand the market and circumstances there, and to level the gap between our current and future life.

One major reason for our selecting Toronto for immigration is because I am from Engineering (Electronics) and automotive industry background. My past working experience in *******, with extensive purchasing, supplier quality, quality system auditing and material handling experience will be very beneficial for my job opportunities in that area. My ex-colleagues in ***** Automotive Systems who immigrated to Canada also chose Toronto to land and they were successfully hired by Magna or Leggett&Platt in automotive industry shortly afterwards. My supervisor in ***** Automotive System China Headquarter, Mr. Harry ******, now the Supplier Quality Manager of ***** Packard Electric Systems located in Warren Ohio, would also be able to provide his support in introduction and reference in the automotive or relative industries. I believe that the centered industries around Toronto area will provide me with reasonable future career opportunities. In addition, the convenience of metropolitan life and complete social and commercial services shall also ease our family with the same urban life background and minimize possible shock when immigrating to a totally new country. Most of our friends in Canada also live in Toronto so it shall be good for friend re-union when we are in Toronto.

Based upon our study of the cost of living in Toronto, as well as verified from our friends, it would pretty much take about 1500 Canadian Dollars monthly for a family like us. Our current savings shall be able to sustain at least 1-1.5 years living n Toronto with no problem. We would live on that in the transit period and I am sure I will be able to find a decent job based upon my knowledge, working experience and capability.

Another promising advantage of mine is that my English skills is mature enough to live and work in Canada, which has already been proven through IELTS test taken this year (Listening 9.0, Speaking 8.0, Reading 8.0, Writing 7.0, Average 8.0).

I would be greatly appreciated your support and advice of our immigration application process. We hope that with the early approval of our application our family would have a brand new start in Canada.
