Harper has always avoided questions, especially from Mulcair. The PMO office doesn't want him being too open. After all that who is really running this country.

Harper is essentially the same as the petty control-freak dean in every 1980s college movie. He is completely oblivious to the fact that his continuous abuse of power to avoid potentially embarrassing questions makes him look like a very poor excuse for a "leader".

Unfortunately, his "base" is a very undemanding bunch, who have let his MPs get away with avoiding taking any questions from the media or their own constituents for two elections now.

Taxpayers $20 Million/yr for Harper's security.....hard at work, The Journalists pay & approved by the PMO to travel with the PM........save money on photo ops & limited questions, do investigative journalism ......Canadians are tired of staged press conferences from this PM.

After the incident, the first question to Harper should have been why didn't you let the Chinese guy ask a question? lol

Politicians, even prime minister are under no obligation to answer questions. If they refuse, the electorate can render their verdict on election day. The Harper Conservatives can play this game because the press gallery will never stand united and refuse to report on the the prime minister's activities unless he is willing to surrender some control. So it is the corporate media who have failed democracy. They are to blame.

I would love it if the media just refused to show up for harpers photo op's and his announcement's, simply refuse to ask questions of the Con's and see if he becomes more forthright.

They will be begging for attention.

Why the media even bother to cover the Harper photo ops is beyond me they know they are being used by the PMO and yet they follow like lap dogs.

you know it's bad when a communist thinks you're being far too heavy handed with the press. That should tell you something.

By this point is it really a surprise this government continues to exhibit this sort of behaviour? I am tired of these statist and quite frankly semi-fascist practices implemented by the Harper regime. Time for a change. 2015 can not come soon enough.

Thank-you Mr. Harper for saving me and my family a ton of money from having to go overseas to witness an un-democtratic nation. Now we can stay at home and witness it here.

The true north strong and SHUT UP!

Unfortunately Li did not understand that here in Canada much like in China our great leader does not answer questions unless approved and scripted for cameras. Here in Canada as in China truth means nothing and propaganda, fudged facts, and lies is everything.
