I applied us visa for my niece and I was charged for 2 applicants due to the record from last year. I requested a refund but it was denied. I was told that I can transfer the MRV fee to another applicant who is in the same country. Is there anybody need to apply us visa? The Consular Section has denied your refund request. You were charged for two applicants because there were two applicants in the record at the time of payment. If only one applicant was applying, they needed to be registered as their own Primary Applicant. Applicant error is not grounds for the Consular Section to grant a refund.
Please note that the MRV fee is valid for one year from date of purchase and may still be used by the applicant that the MRV fee receipt number is associated with, for an appointment in the same country.
You may choose to transfer the unused payment to another applicant for use within the year it is valid, but you do not qualify for a refund of the payment.
If you would like to transfer the payment, you must reply to this email with the full name, date of birth, passport number, and nationality of the applicant that the payment is being transferred to. They must be registered in our system in order for a transfer to be made.
Refund decisions by the consular section are final and no appeals will be considered.
