听参与规划法国朋友说,新轻轨不是为了方便周围居民通勤到downtown,相反,而是为了方便downtown居民到郊区工业园区工作(例如40号公路沿线的几个巨大的工业园区)。
整个轻轨走向主要考虑的是联通工业园。

目前,40号公路沿线的工业园,招不到足够的人工,因为downtown的人不愿意开车去工作。

因为招不到人,40号公路沿线的工业园很多公司没法继续扩大生产。

这就是新轻轨西岛最后一站,直接接通西岛最大的工业园,而不延伸到麦吉尔西岛校区和college的原因。(规划的轻轨西岛终点站Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue,位于Baie d‘urfe工业园门口,而不是位于Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue中心。当然未来会逐渐延伸到麦吉尔西岛校区和鹦鹉岛乃至于vaudreuil。)

搞不懂,这个线路基本和AMT的通勤火车重合啊,真有这么多的人流量,火车多开几班就好了,搞个毛轻规啊

COALITION OF THE TRAIN DE L'OUEST
Press Release
Montréal, June 12, 2015 – The Train de l’Ouest Coalition is extremely pleased that the National Assembly of Quebec has adopted Bill 38, authorizing the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec to undertake large infrastructure projects on behalf of the Quebec Government. The Train de l’Ouest project now forms part of the mandate of the Caisse, a key development likely to bring the Train de l’Ouest project closer to reality. After devoting many years on this essential project so as to optimize public rail transit between Montreal and the West Island, the Coalition is now able to rely on the proven expertise and financial resources of the major partner that is the Caisse.

‘’We would like to thank Premier Couillard very specially for his long-term vision in giving this infrastructure mandate to the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec ,’’ declared Clifford Lincoln, spokesperson for the Train de l’Ouest Coalition. ‘’We also want to thank the Minister of Finance, Carlos Leitao, and the Minister of Transport, Robert Poëti, for their continuing interest, and their involvement in ensuring the passage of Bill 38. We intend to cooperate closely with the Caisse towards the achievement of the Train de l’Ouest project by 2020.’’

‘’The Train de l’Ouest project is a key priority for the well-being and future of the West Island,’’ added Mayor Maria Tutino. Mayor of Baie d’Urfé, who represents the Mayors on the Coalition. ‘’The Coalition recognizes the importance of a service to the P.E. Trudeau airport in Dorval, but it is essential that priority be given to the Montreal-Sainte Anne de Bellevue corridor, which serves more than 100,000 employees in the commercial, institutional and industrial sectors. Indeed, this corridor includes 94% of the employees working in the industrial sector of the West Island. Thanks to the Caisse, the achievement of the Train de l’Ouest project will bring significant benefits to our economy.‘’

Let us reiterate that the Train de l’Ouest – which means dedicated passenger rail-lines between Montreal and Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue – will be able to serve two to three times the current number of commuters, at the same time as providing service to our industrial sites, which have continuously stressed their urgent need for such a service.

A Baie D’Urfé company is hiring, but says it’s having trouble finding employees who’ll travel to the Baie D'Urfé industrial park.

Frank Komsic, vice-president of SHOEI Canada, said as many as 80 per cent of people scheduled for job interviews don’t show up because of the lack of transit to the industrial park.

The company, which produces nickel powder used in electronics manufacturing,set up a shuttle service to get its employees to work.

Baie D’Urfé Mayor Maria Tutino said she’s heard about this problem from other businesses in the industrial park since taking over as mayor, ten years ago.

She’s advocating for more transit options, particularly the proposed Train de L’Ouest.

给工业园送工人用得了花50亿造轻轨?多少的人流量,而且还只是上下班高峰的流量,多开几条AMT和工业园区专用shuttle bus足矣。

西岛几个工业园一年税收100多亿呢,还不算员工工资所得税。
工业园区很多夜班工人。还有parttime。
还有软件园,上下班不固定。

搞不懂,这个线路基本和AMT的通勤火车重合啊,真有这么多的人流量,火车多开几班就好了,搞个毛轻规啊
双山线已是电气话的,而20号的铁路是CP的,AMT想加火车不易。新火车每车只能载150人,最高时速100KM,但频率高的多。如果计划中蒙大站与蓝线,麦吉尔站与绿线相连的话,那用公交的人会多很多。

CDQ总裁Michael Sabia表示,全新的轨道交通将采用全自动系统,无需司机,总里程67公里,共24站,包括现有火车站和地铁站,例如中央车站和麦吉尔地铁站,每周运营7天,每天20小时从上午5点至次日凌晨1点。高峰期6到12分钟一班。2020年开通第一班。
