看来不是Maple Leafs的球迷，至少不是真球迷。否则，要么悲痛欲绝，要么义愤填膺，哪里顾得上时态、单复数。

多次看到：Senate Passes the Bill。
多次看到：zero points, no points。
Maple Leafs的球队工资帽，也是cap。

一直是知其然不知其所以然。

其实现在大媒体上面出现语法错误比比皆是，见怪不怪了。今天的媒体已经没多少编辑去审稿，没钱。赶抢头条新闻是要紧的大事，执笔的记者出语法错误也顾不得改了。很多时候，报道的结尾下面有请读者报告新闻中出现的语法错误什么的。

说到比赛，我还发现一个英语和中文的不同。
对于一场3-0的比赛，A队赢了3-0，B队输了0-3.
英语 A wins 3-0. B loses 3-0. 永远是3-0。
(又有时态和单复数的问题）。

在英文媒体中，新闻报道的标题规定从不用过去时态表达发生了的事，永远用现在时，哪怕是发生在去年的事，因为是阐述事实。比如：

Supreme Court rejects Johnson & Johnson’s appeal of $2 billion penalty in baby powder cancer case
如果标题中你看到有过去式，那不是过去式，那是过去分词past participle，以表示被动语态，见下面标题中的词 "linked":
