Once you start your CPP retirement pension, you’ll receive payments for the rest of your life.
Your monthly payment will increase in January of each year if there’s an increase in the cost of living, as measured by the
Consumer Price Index.
Upon completion of your application, you can choose to apply for various other CPP benefits and provisions.

Working while collecting a pension
From: Financial Consumer Agency of Canada
If you continue to work while receiving your Canadian Pension Plan (CPP) retirement pension and are between the ages of 60 and 65 years old, you must still contribute to the CPP. Your CPP contributions will go toward post-retirement benefits. These benefits will increase your retirement income when you stop working.
If you continue to work while getting CPP retirement pension and are between the ages of
65 and 70 years old, you can choose not to make any more CPP contributions. If you decide to keep paying into the CPP, your employer will also have to contribute. If you're self-employed, you'll have to pay both the employee and employer portions.

Lived or living outside Canada- Pensions and benefits – What you need before you start
Non-resident tax
Your monthly
Old Age Security (OAS) and
Canada Pension Plan (CPP) or Quebec Pension Plan (QPP) pensions and benefits may be subject to a Canadian income tax called the
"non-resident tax". The tax rate is 25% unless reduced or exempted by a
tax treaty between Canada and your country of residence. The non-resident tax will be deducted from your benefit payments.
