147. The value of all the following property is excluded for the purpose of calculating a benefit, up to a total net value of $90,000:
(1) the value of a residence or a working farm;
if you want to apply for the last resort assistance, to buy a house of that value is impossible.
if your sister is not a canadian resident, it's not good neither, for she will pay a lot of tax. also, when she sells out the house or she donates, passes it by testament, (sorry, anyway, she will die like all of us) she will pay a lot, including tps and tvq (it's huge, you will not believe it.)
what i want to say, is to consider all the tax aspects at every step of your plan.
if you forget this: you gain here and you lose there.
also, to apply for these assistance money is always humilating, desperate, feeling not well. this is different from EI. it's interesting that you will find their lives (assistes sociaux) are not good at all. this is just like some label attached to you and the gouvt will urge you to take some programs.(regain your economic autonomy)
i just wonder, if you have that money,(60 0000), why not do some presumed sound investments in Canada? just like you said you will put another half to WEN JIAN investment in China. you will have a good life.
tu te cherches des problemes.
