我是天津的，看到卡尔加里的天津人在春节还有聚会真是亲切啊！老公英语不好先上linc,我上esl，因为可以申请拿到funding,孩子找个带daycare的linc或esl，这样我们可以先慢慢适应新的生活，同时有funding和孩子的牛奶金进帐，生活压力不至于太大。只是在呼呼的帖子里看到牛奶金有360，那象我们的情况esl funding能拿多少呢？是想上都可以吗？我知道还要符合家庭存款在2000以下这个条件的。我们都先上上学，然后再打打零工这样够家庭一个月的花销吗？我们不会开车，但房子想租市中心交通方便的，现在房价多少了呢？
你是天津的呀？这个帖子是一定要回的了！
三口之家ESL的补助能拿1300，但要注意funding申请下来不是无限期的，最长两年半左右。牛奶金你们能拿最高额~370。可争取多打些现金工，这样funding的钱就不会被扣掉。带来的钱可存在保管箱里，只要不存入银行户头，没人知道你有多少家庭存款。
一室一厅市中心900左右，你可申请廉租房，租金能便宜一半，根据房子所在的社区不同，等待的时间长短不同。有的人幸运，几个月就申请到了。
以上都是听周围朋友讲的，读书-放定-找工作，是许多新移民要走的路，很辛苦！但一两年后过了语言关，生活就会逐渐好起来！不过也有来了七八年，仍然没具备英语的基本技能，准备一辈子在加拿大干体力活的。

本人想近期登陆,想请教:一,是不是上学必须按照LINC ,ESL ,工作经验班或者COLLEGE 这样的先后顺序进行呢? 二,家里的存款多于2000后,对拿funding,影响有多大?三,工作经验班是不是要和本人原来的专业,工作有关?
一、按照你的实际情况，上述顺序还是比较好地如果你有时间的话，因为中国人的主要弱项是语言；二、不影响，那是紧急生活费；三、有关最好。因为有竞争；

POLICY STATEMENT
School-age students requiring and receiving ESL services in a public school in B.C. are eligible for ESL funding for a maximum of five years.
RATIONALE
Students whose primary language is other than English may require specialized services to develop intellectually, to develop as citizens and to achieve the expected learning outcomes of the provincial curriculum.
LEGISLATION/ REGULATIONS
Sections 106.3 (5) and (6) of the School Act provide the legal framework for funding ESL students.
POLICY
Students reported as ESL on the Form 1701 and who meet all of the requirements as specified on the Form 1701 Instructions may qualify for ESL funding.
Students are eligible for ESL funding for up to five years, provided they continue to meet funding criteria.
An ESL student enrolled full time in an eligible full-day Kindergarten program (see 1701 Instructions for more information) will be funded as one full-time equivalent (FTE).
School boards will be funded for $1,174 for each eligible FTE ESL student.
An ESL student may also be eligible to receive funding for Aboriginal Education or Special Needs funding, if the requirements of these programs are also met.
Adults are not eligible for ESL program funding.
PROCEDURES
Students requiring and receiving ESL services should be reported on the Form 1701.
An echo report will be provided to school districts identifying those students who have already received five years of ESL and therefore would not qualify for the additional funding.

为什么BC省木有这么好滴东东？！

1，新移民来了的第一件事：到910或sait测试英语，目前需要一个月后能拿到成绩。sait快点，但是要100块钱．
２，如果成绩低于4-５分，不能上esl,需要上link;如果有６－７分，建议直接上个工作经验班或学个专业，８分最好直接找工作．
３.成绩4－７分者，可以考虑拿补助读英语．先选择好你要就读的学校，学校有顾问会帮助你申请．需要１个月左右可得到结果．如果条件都满足，每月可有１３００左右生活费（３口之家），学费全免．
4.拿funding 条件：在落地３个月后，银行存款＜＝２０００，车＜５０００，目前没工作．

５.拿到后学生本人可打工，但是要保证成绩和出勤．伴侣如打工＞２３０／月，要扣钱．
６.原则上每个人总共可拿３０个月，但是你要考虑你将来可能还要上个专业，如果你将来想读个２年的program,那就尽量读１年内的esl.如果你花１4个月读ＥＳＬ，那你的ＰＲＯＧＲＡＭ就申请不到funding,只能贷款了．给补助原则是"从底到高", 先语言, 后工作经验班,PROGAM, 最后目的是帮助你就业,那顺序可拿到总共30个月. 如果倒过来,先上PROGRAM或已经有工作,就不能再申请esl funding.
７．学校的选择：根据你读完英语后想干什么选择．
如果你将来想到某学院学专业，到本校上ESL.
想将来就读ＳＡＩＴ，去ＳＡＩＴ，ＣＨＩＮＯＯＫ．想上工作经验班，去ＢＯＷ ＶＥＬＬＹ或ＹＷＣＡ，
就想拿funding混日子，私立学校如maple leaf ,robertson较松，但是他们没有自己的顾问帮助你申请，要到９１０底楼．
注意到学校的网站上查开学时间，一般要提前１－２月申请．
８．如果有经济情况变化，一定要汇报，如配偶找到工作等．政府会查的．
注意：保存好从申请前２个月到结束拿补助后２个月的相关记录：工资单，银行单据．就是说，这些是抽查内容，不能有太大出入．
９.读书期间不能买房子，买好车．如果想回家几个月，可以申请暂停，如果有困难要＂请假＂，不要quit,会影响以后申请的．
