1. Sealy
Sealy mattresses burst onto the scene in the early 1900s and gained a national reputation by 1920. Sealy has been atop the leaderboard of mattress manufacturers for 30 years. Sealy has four principal categories of mattresses:

2. Simmons
Production of Simmons mattresses dates as far back as 1889. 11 years later, one of Simmons’ employees patented the first enclosed coil springs. By the 1920s Simmons gained a national reputation, around the same time as Sealy. In the very recent past, Simmons created pocketed coil springs, which generate disconnection of the separate innersprings; in other words, if a small section of a mattress moves a little bit, the rest of the sections of the mattress remain unchanged. 3. Tempur-Pedic
Originating straight from NASA, the material for Tempur-Pedic’s memory foam mattress was first created to cushion astronauts during launch. Subsequently, it was adopted by a Danish mattress company appropriately called Dan-Foam. At some point, Tempur-Pedic and Dan-Foam merged into the mattress conglomerate they are known as today. The special brand of memory foam Tempur-Pedic is known for is called TEMPUR and it has multiple lines of products that use it. Tempur-Pedic has three principal categories of mattresses:

TEMPUR Cloud: plusher memory foam mattresses, between $700 and $4,000

4. Serta
Serta began as a bunch of individual mattress producers. In 1933, these individual producers decided to merge and Serta was born. The company actually remains not public, but it is nonetheless one of the most renowned and most lauded brands of the mattress producer market. Serta has four principal categories of mattresses:
Serta Perfect Sleeper: best-selling premium mattress in the United States
Vera Wang by Serta: assortment of special mattresses whose shapes are collaborated on with the designer of the same name
Perfect Day by Serta: more comfortable innerspring mattress
Sertapedic: cheaper version of the Serta Perfect Sleeper
5. Select Comfort
Founded almost twenty-five years ago, Select Comfort is the number one manufacturer of high quality mattresses whose primary material is air. Its primary model of mattresses are the Sleep Number models, whose hardness or softness can be manually fine-tuned through the use of a remote control which is packaged with the mattress. Select Comfort has three principal categories of Sleep Number mattresses:
Classic Series: the fundamental air mattress starting at $1,000
Performance Series: more comfortable air mattress starting at $1,600
Innovation Series: most comfortable air mattress starting at $2,500
6. Spring Air
Established in 1926, Spring Air has been one of the principal producers of mattresses ever since. Since 2000, Spring Air has brought in more than $4 billion in revenue from its mattress and mattress-related offerings. Spring Air has four principal categories of Back Supporter mattresses:
Value Collection: the fundamental innerspring, latex foam, and memory foam mattresses

7. Comfort Solutions
Established in 1898 in Minnesota, Comfort Solutions was actually first referred to as King Koil. Just a few years ago, the name was changed to Comfort Solutions to not convey the impression that they only specialize in innerspring mattresses, as they have expanded into the latex foam and memory foam markets. Comfort Solutions has five principal categories of mattresses:
King Koil: fundamental innerspring mattress models
Laura Ashley: more comfortable than the King Koil models
Perfect Contour: more comfortable than the Laura Ashley models

8. Englander
Established in 1894 by a man of the same name, Englander entered the mattress production market by way of the fundamental innerspring mattresses and has evolved since then. At certain points in its history, Englander belonged to La-Z-Boy and Union Carbide, but it has today reverted back to its roots and is now in business solely for itself, no longer being owned by another company. Englander has seven principal categories of mattresses:

ViscoPedic: memory foam mattresses

9. Kingsdown
First called the Mebane Bedding Company, established in 1904, it later took on the name of Kingsdown, and like the majority of the rest of the producers in the space, began by producing innerspring mattresses. Around 20 years ago, Kingsdown conceived a computer program that links a person’s body shape, size, and type to the best suited sleeping experience. A few years ago it updated the program, now called BodyDiagnostics. Kingsdown has five principal categories of mattresses:
BodyBlend: the fundamental innerspring conventional mattress
BodyEssential: more comfortable innerspring conventional mattress
BodyCaress: most comfortable innerspring conventional mattress
BodyDuet: innerspring mattress that enables different feelings of hardness for its two halves

10. Duxiana
Duxiana was established almost a century ago and is a non-public company based in Sweden. Its product is extremely expensive, yet extremely high in quality, as it integrates the best technology and provides some of the best comfort. In the United States, Duxiana sells their mattresses exclusively in their stores, the majority of which are located in California and the Northeast corner of the country. This is due to the fact that Duxiana principally caters to wealthier consumers, although there are a few other locations scattered throughout the United States as well.
