最新消息:Tim律师同意我们的费用和先期付款的人一样350刀,可付人民币,条件是:12月20日前付款;
我的去信和律师回信都贴上,我明天就去招行付款,还是那句话,大家各自为战。我是努力过的。
Thank you, Ruth, for writing me and explaining your group's position.
The problem is the timing. For those who join before December 20th, I will honour the reduced rate I offered the group but I cannot, and will not, hold the fee open forever. The litigation commenced October 28th and the offer was made will over a month earlier. In fact, it took so long for anyone in the group to act that I decided to file without any Chinese involvement, and only after I had done so did any action occur from your end.
By January 8th, I hope to have all the written arguments prepared, which requires information from the litigants. Once I get that information, I will know who to choose as the representative case. So, the longer your group delays, the more difficult my task. So, I would like people to join virtually immediately because the delay only hurts the chances for those who are involved in the group.
Therefore, I do not want to give you another retainer agreement to post but, rather, I want people to commit themselves to the project. I was fooled before by your group when I was told that, if I lowered the price to $350, I would have 50 litigants but only 15 signed on and paid and one other person joined afterwards. As they say, "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me".
It is really annoying. It is your future. I don't know why you're haggling over the fee -- and stalling. Quite honestly at $350 per person, out of which $50 goes to the Court, I am doing you a favour, not vice versa. Even at $550 per person, I am earning maybe $5 per hour. Hardly worth the effort.
So, if people want to join, please provide
1. their name,
2. file number,
3. visa post (BJ or HK) and
4. where they will sign the agreement
and I will provide them with a retainer agreement, giving them the $350 price if they act before December 20th. After December 20th, a higher fee will apply.
Regards,
Tim
