请问UBC大学的BIE 国际经济学这个专业有谁了解？

今年9月要开的新专业，就是文学院和sauder一起联手的cohort-based，毕业后的余地比较大，感觉是面向国际生开的。

第一，这是一个高段的经济学专业。属于文学院，文科的经济不等于商科，很理论，但是培养思维能力。

第二，这是一个Cohort。一直和一群人在一起，有利有弊。

读经济的相当一部分同学日后会选择商科，商科专业学生的成功有相当一部分取决于各种体验，你经历的人事物给你多少眼界、学识、判断力。和Cohort在一起，你无法选择你能相处的伙伴，一届学生的成功，很大程度上取决于录取官员对未来学生资质的判断。如果录取官是伯乐，搭配好一个Cohort,那学生是幸运的。如果录取官眼光不好，则相反。目前来看，UBC的录取官具不具备这样的眼光呢？

本科不一定要选择和谁谁相处，重要的是各种各样的体验，所以Liberal Art是很好的模式。

BIE的B就是bachelor 本科学士的意思，是你说的这个不能选择谁谁相处成了弊，现在又不一定选择啦，liberal art 是个啥模式？为啥好？

cohort 在UBC多设在研究生阶段，本科生很难得有这样一个班，可能因为是新专业吧，因为是学校出面统一安排coop, 实习， 大量的接触社会机会，很多学生在这个过程中就可以找到自己的兴趣，决定下面继续深造还是直接工作。

还有，这种cohort大家的目标一致，彼此在一起凝聚力非常强，比起一门课里各种专业的学生混在一起好很多。还真想不出有什么弊。

The Bachelor of International Economics (BIE) is a new and distinct four-year, full-time degree program starting in September 2013, offered by the Vancouver School of Economics with supporting partner the Sauder School of Business. The BIE aims to provide graduates with a deep understanding of the workings of the global economy, as well as a strong technical training that will allow them to go on to careers as professional or academic economists. BIE graduates may find work in the public sector, non-government organizations, or the private sector as economists.
The BIE Advantages

• Focus on international trade, international finance and international development
• Cohort-based program with small class sizes (85 students per cohort)
• Direct entry into year one of an economics degree program
• Dedicated career centre and career counselling built into the program
• Opportunities for internships, exchange programs, research projects, and co-op placements
