Until we get a formal system in place to manage jobs, errors will creep in. Using emails to manage indents (and other jobs) doesn’t work. It should be enough, but it isn’t because people have so many emails things get lost and forgotten. It’s not an effective procedure. It then becomes a blame game when things go wrong and the company loses. In fact is creates bad feelings all around.
As CEO, I’m ultimately responsible, but in this case I did try hard to ensure the information and communication flow was sufficient for our team to do their job. Apparently not good enough … changes required. I have prepared a mock up template (system) for managing Indents which I discussed with Gordon last year, but this is still a work in progress.
We have taken a few more steps forward with the system selection for Phalanx the past 10 days … we’re seriously considering a move from Netsuite/Fusion 5 to Exactlly ERP/Netsense, an Asian based operation. More details and reasons for the change to be released shortly.
