旧护照到期换新护照时旧护照会剪角并盖报废章，所以旧护照包括签证都是无效的。美签是这样要求的。

我的移民登陆介绍上说：如果你在得到签证后换了护照，则你必须同时携带两本护照入境，即含有效签证的救护照和新签发的护照。
我也刚办了护照更新。马上就收到了。

灵云，你的旧护照剪角敲作废章了吗？

讨论了半天也没有人说到实质。首先，工作人员的回复是对的。大家不要把移民签证和别的什么美国签证比较。没有可比性。移民签证是一个特殊签证。签证本身没有＂有效期＂。在说明里明确指出其有效期受两个因素限制：１，体检日满一年；２，护照过期日。
所以，你换了护照，原来的护照就自然作废了。那么移民签证也就作废了。移民签证过期后是不能从新补发的。所以你换了护照，最好把原来的签证退回去。换新签证。

谢谢LS！我觉得说得很有道理，而且跟电话咨询的结果也是一致的。那是不是说只要护照在有效期内，凭有效签证就可以入境，不受少于6个月的这个限制？

领馆会不会以为你在贴签证之前要更换护照？这样是不行的，必须要将新护照资料补料领馆，一旦贴签后再更换护照就没有问题了。

不太明白。
我用旧护照体检后，换发新护照。准备补料时提交旧护照复印件和新护照，并说明因护照快要过期而换发护照，不知可否？

这个边境服务署回复邮件了，建议联系当地大使馆，内容如下：

灵云，你的旧护照剪角敲作废章了吗？

旧护照被剪角了，但是没有敲作废章。并且新护照多交了20元的加注钱。
你的登陆说明上没说可以换护照吗？难道每个人的登陆说明都不一样？

别客气。随移民纸和签证还有一个登陆说明，原文如下：
You must appear at the Canadian Port of entry with the following documents: a valid passport, a valid Canadian Permanent Resident visa and the enclosed Confirmation of Permanent Form. If you renewed your passport since your visa was issued you must carry both passports with you when you travel; the passport with the valid visa and the new passport.
我登陆的时候带着这张说明，我想应该没有问题。
另外，换护照的时候告诉他们旧护照上有签证。他们剪角会注意的。

Please be advised you have 2 choices:

1- You can appear at the Canadian port of entry with both a valid passport and a valid Canadian visa. If you have renewed your passport since your visa was issued you must carry both the passports with you when you travel (the passport with the valid visa and the new passport).

2- You may apply for a replacement visa at the Beijing Office. Please be advised that we recommend the second choice. If you choose to do so please submit the following:

-The passport containing the valid Canadian Visa as well as your new passport.

我的登录说明上是这么说的；重新贴签证还要花时间去使馆。
我4月底去登陆，回来汇报结果。

加拿大移民取得的美签一般是10年有效期，护照过期时美签不会过期，到时两本护照出入境就可以了。这已经是很多人都试过的了。
