看看有没有二手GARMIN的，便宜买来自己更新一下地图！更实惠啊！就不知道二手的几十元可以买到？IGO8好像也不错，前几天给同事更新了地图，装上中文导航，搜星还非常的快！谁有出让的我买一个。

建议最好别买这个牌子的。

这两天也在国内给LD看GPS，查下来麦哲伦的国外网络口碑确实没有佳明的好，所以一般大屏的也比佳明的便宜，这个麦哲伦4.7寸的价格还不错，国内佳明5寸的4G内存要卖850元。

Great design and architecture, but the product just doesn't work reliably. Love the one-touch control where with just a touch or two you can navigate to any preselected favorite place--a real time saver. There were some other great features, too, although the bluetooth was a bit sketchy both in terms of sound quality and ease of use.

The main problem is that sometimes the unit just won't turn on. One day it works great and the next, just a black screen. I tried two different units and had the same problem with both within the first few days. Apparently this is a Magellan problem because I've seen other posts with similar comments related to the 3045, 3055 and 3065 units. Too bad, I really liked the unit when it functioned. I've switched to Nuvi and hope for better reliability.

The screen on the first unit I bought froze on me the first day. I could not free it up, but, found the voice still navigated me thru. Had to turn unit off to kill the voice. Also it paired with my cell OK, but, it would not download my contacts. It said it was downloading, but, non were. Also, I could hear fine on the bluetooth, but, the other end was garbled. Took it back and exchanged it for another unit. It did exactly the same as the first and the display froze and would never free up. Cust. svc. could not free it either. They did offer to replace it but I instead returned it to the store for a full refund. I then bought a Garmin with the same features and it has worked perfectly. I owned two Magellans previous to this one and they were exceptional.

I bought this unit as a replacement. It is slow to navigate. The bluetooth does not work with any cellphone I have tried it with. Magellan used to be the best there was available. Not this time. I just finished dealing with customer service, I am getting a Maestro 4700 in itl's place. I have two other 4700's & they both work just fine. I do not recommend the Roadmate 3055. Also, if you go to their customer service for assistance, don't deal with the off-shore rep., ask for their supervisor. The supervisor is much more likely to satisfy your request.

Stay away from this item. On a trip from NJ to SC (only 2 days old), it got "stuck" in NJ. When I arrived in SC and searched for local gas stations, it found those in NJ. There is no reset button, so after turning on and off about 10 times, it finally reset. In the next several weeks, it locked up several times on the start-up screen. Some times for a few minutes, sometimes for hours, then days. Shutting down and restarting did nothing, it would go right back to the same place.
As a GPS it's adequate. If you don't how to get where you're going, it'll get you there. But it may not be the best way. I tested it with some routes I know, and it does not always recognized and recalculate quickly, and will keep telling you to do a legal u-turn. It actually helped me get lost in Norther Virginia because it did not recognize that I was in the express lanes going north, even though they appeared on the screen. So it did not tell me when my exit passed, and I wound up headed into DC.
The traffic feature is interesting enough, but I don't know how useful. On several occasions, it identified traffic back ups, but only after I was sitting in the traffic. The alternate routes are useless if you're on a highway with no exits for miles. The Bluetooth is utterly useless, as on the couple of occasions I used it, it was clear enough to hear, but the other party on the call couldn't hear me very well.
I bought this because Amazon was running a good special on it, but maybe there was a reason for that discount. It has now been returned (thank you Amazon), I guess waiting to be refurbished for some unsuspecting person.
Also a side note. As I said I purchased this from Amazon, but it appeared to have been shipped directly by Magellan, judging by the shipping location. It took almost a week for the order to be processed and shipped. Definitely the slowest shipping of any order I have placed with Amazon.

This is most awful system you can find - very long time for finding a set of satellite, many mistakes in navigation, unclear voice instructions. As I understood from friends they suffer some problems using other Magellan GPS systems. Never buy it!!!
The Magellan GPS worked for one day. After turning it on the second day the display froze. Turning the power off and on did not solve the problem. They are shipping units without updating software. I returned the GPS as I do not trust their quality control.
So I just spent 2 hours of my life with Magellan Tech support trying to import my contacts from my phone to the GPS only to learn that there is a compatibilty issue with some phones with the model 3055 and they are working on a software upgrade. My phone is a pretty popular one in the area I live so its not like I have an obscure type of phone. I was looking forward to having a dual gps/handsfree phone unit rather than having to have seperate units for gps/phone but guess its going back to costco............
side note: tech support was very nice and I could understand them fine.
